Abraham Luzzi's Vision for Uganda: Honest Leadership & Economic Empowerment Ahead of 2026 Polls (2025)

Luzzi Advocates for a Mindset Shift and Transparent Leadership in the Lead-Up to the 2026 Elections

In a bold statement, Abraham Luzzi, the parliamentary aspirant for Kampala Central, challenges the common misconception that Uganda is failing under President Yoweri Museveni's leadership. He asserts that the real issue lies within Ugandans themselves, specifically the pervasive corruption that plagues the nation.

Luzzi, known for his wit and transparency, emphasizes the need for Ugandans to embrace honest, transformative leadership and reject manipulative political rhetoric. During his appearance on Sanyuka One on One, he outlined his vision for Uganda, focusing on personal responsibility, integrity, and economic empowerment.

As a successful entrepreneur, Luzzi founded Ssebo Food Industries Uganda Ltd, a producer of Ssebo Pure Maize Flour and the Ssebo Pure Gold and Jewelry Center at Serena Hotel Kampala. His business ventures have expanded globally through the Ssebo International Group, operating in the DRC, South Africa, USA, Canada, UK, China, and the UAE. He believes Uganda's abundance of resources and opportunities is a key driver for his ambitions.

Luzzi's political journey began as a mobilizer for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Mityana and Mubende. He later contested for Mityana Municipality MP in 2021, losing to NUP's Francis Zaake. After a brief stint with the Democratic Party (DP), he chose an independent path to represent Kampala Central.

Addressing the public, Luzzi challenged the narrative of Uganda's failure, urging citizens to focus on personal progress and national productivity. He emphasized that his motivation for seeking public office is to uplift Ugandans, not for personal gain. He highlighted his own success, stating, 'I live a life better than many MPs or ministers. I don't beg, I don't have debts, and becoming a leader is about helping you.'

Luzzi's leadership approach is grounded in speaking hard truths and offering practical solutions. He distances himself from both the ruling party and opposition factions, advocating for a mindset shift among Ugandans. His campaign is centered around eight pillars of reform, addressing political, economic, justice system, housing, administrative, employment, accountability, and constituency-specific issues.

Despite his popularity, Luzzi faces strong competition from National Unity Platform Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, Kampala Capital City and Metropolitan Affairs Minsa Kabanda of the NRM, Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) President Moses Muhangi, and Suzan Kushaba. They all aim to unseat the incumbent MP, Muhammad Nsereko, who has represented the constituency since 2011.

The Kampala Central parliamentary seat is expected to be a closely watched contest in the 2026 elections, with Luzzi's call for a mindset shift and transparent leadership resonating with many Ugandans.
